Welcome to Golden Bay Preschool!

We are located in downtown Alameda, a block away from the Alameda Main Library. Golden Bay is a child-centered, High Scope inspired, play-based preschool serving children ages 12 months to 6 years old. We offer year-round literacy rich toddler and preschool programs with enrichment classes from local professionals.

With seven gorgeous, modern, high-tech classrooms and a 40,000 square foot well-equipped outdoor playground, our students are able to thrive academically, socially, and physically while developing a lifetime love of learning and exploration.

Our location in the heart of Alameda provides us with wonderful learning opportunities. We make regular trips to the library, and have a police car and a firetruck come visit our school to let the children observe how they operate. These experiences and opportunities allow the children to immerse themselves in the community.

Every child who attends Golden Bay Preschool will grow and learn in a print and literacy rich environment, which have been thoughtfully designed to ignite their passion for reading, writing, and learning.

Every child who attends Golden Bay Preschool should be able to read and write upon completing one year of preschool and one year of prekindergarten programs with us. They should be able to read any age appropriate books given to them.

At Golden Bay Preschool, all children are exposed to the Spanish and Chinese language.

At Golden Bay Preschool, all children have the opportunity to explore various careers and professions by those in the field ( i.e. Firefighters, dentist, chief, gardeners, etc.)

Our teachers provide a daily recap of what was learned with parents to ensure that learning occurs beyond the classroom setting.

We use the Early Childhood Curriculum Planning Tool to assess every child, and conduct parent-teacher conferences.

Without extra charge, we offer piano lessons here at Golden Bay to build an appreciation and love for music for our young learners.

Hours & Holidays

Our preschool opens 7:30AM – 6:00PM Monday to Friday. We are closed on major national holidays.
